Youth careers take flight at Auckland International Airport

It’s rewarding to be part of an industry that focuses on the future and allows the team to give back in a meaningful way. Today’s site visit was just that, with Jobs and Skills Hubs and Icon welcoming six school leavers to the Auckland International Airport(external link) Transport Hub site.

The site visit offered these young adults insights and advice into career opportunities, with the goal of supporting them in the transition between school and the construction industry.

Following a walk through, the students took part in a Q&A session engaging with our team and Icon through questions about the industry and how to build meaningful careers in construction. There were also representatives from Icon’s subcontractors present, so students could connect and gain valuable advice from different disciplines.
