Accelerator to Employment 

Vertical Horizonz are running a five-day training programme to assist jobseekers with key skills and experience to enter work within the construction industry, while ensuring they are safe onsite. This can also be a starting point towards achieving future industry recognised qualifications and apprenticeships. 

The training will include a mix of theoretical and practical learning: 

  • Working at heights: Safe Practices - US#17600), Safety Systems - US#15757 , Employ height safety equipment 0 US#25045, and Harness - US#23229. 
  • Elevated work platform theory - US#23966 and Scissor Lift - US#23960 and Self-Propelled Boom Lift - US#23962
  • Low Level Scaffolding >5 metres - US#9184, US#13016, and US#13053
  • Site Safe Foundation Passport - Building Construction - VR if needed

Seeking participants: 

  • Looking for full time work in the construction industry 
  • Good level of fitness and able to do heavy lifting 
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Can commit to attending the entire training
  • In a receipt of a main benefit or deemed as at risk in the labour market
